arachne is a woven installation commissioned for olivia rodrigo’s feminist charity event, daisy chain fields festival. made of vibrant woven panels that stretched across tree branches, the artwork celebrates the creativity and passion of women and girls, with the installation connecting art and culture to the natural world. the weavings are a reminder of the power for transformative change that’s possible when we use our voices to advocate for the common good. the recycled materials in the weavings were collected from local communities, transforming post-consumer waste and personal objects into a fabric embedded with the memories and values of contributors. the festival raised over $20 million for 10 non-profits, including baby2baby, black mamas matter alliance, center for reproductive rights, freefrom, jhpiego, johns hopkins center for indigenous health, national domestic workers alliance, national institute for reproductive health, national women’s law center, and planned parenthood.
