woven together is a community-engagement public art project that took place in southwest DC with the Southwest Business Improvement District (SWBID) Art Rx grant. our Art Rx project, woven together is a vibrant textile installation adorning the trees at the southwest duck pond. our project took place over one week in june 2026, and brought together a wide range of community members who contributed to an art installation grounded in sustainability and care for our environment and neighbors. comprised of 16 weavings attached to tree trunks and 4 weavings suspended from tree branches, the installation will remain at the duck pond into winter time. each woven piece uses recycled materials collected from local partners and was made with the help of community members who prepared the materials and joined us in weaving them on the loom. we are so grateful to everyone who made woven together possible, and we hope that you'll come back to see the work again and again, whether you are coming to spend time at the duck pond or just passing by during your day.
